Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I know if I need hearing aids?
At Sonotones we carry out all the necessary diagnostic tests, free of charge, to check whether or not a person has a lack of hearing, and whether or not they will need to use hearing aids. To determine this, we conduct objective assessment using audiometry, speech audiometry, otoscopy or videotoscopy, and impedance audiometry.
How long does a hearing test (pure-tone audiometry) take?
It depends on the client’s level of cooperation. Around 20 to 30 minutes is the optimal time to carry it out.
Can I choose the hearing aid?
Considering the results of the diagnostic tests, the client’s lifestyle and aesthetic preferences, the hearing care specialist will advise on the appropriate hearing aid model.
Do hearing aids work with batteries?
Most hearing aids are powered by Zinc-Air button batteries. However, rechargeable models of hearing aids are now available. These have a charger that makes the use of batteries unnecessary.
Where can I buy batteries for my hearing aids?
Since the batteries are specifically designed for hearing aids, they can only be purchased in hearing centres, opticians’ shops, or pharmacies.
