Hearing aid fitting
Hearing aid fitting begins with their programming using specific software that takes into account all the audiometric values measured for each client. These are personalised and progressive adjustments over time. In each session, the necessary features will be activated so that the adaptation of the hearing aids is precise. At Sonotones we will carry out all the tests required for this.
Real-Ear Measurement (REM)
Personalised adaptation of hearing aids taking into account the particular anatomical characteristics of each ear canal.
Real-Ear Measurements (REM) are objective tests that allow the programming of hearing aids to be adjusted to the actual amplification needs of each client. It is therefore an objective test that serves as a precise reference in the fitting and programming of hearing aids. This considers such personal parameters as the shape and size of each ear canal, the level of ventilation and occlusion, the risk of hearing aid coupling, the actual sound pressure received by the user, the acoustics of the earmould and the residual ear canal cavity, meaning the space between the end of the earmould, housing or coupler and the eardrum.

Hearing Aid Analyser
Technical testing of the performance of hearing aids.
The hearing aid analyser allows a technical check of the functioning of hearing aids. This equipment analyses and compares the input and output signals of the hearing aid using a reference microphone, comparing the signal received by the microphone with the signal emitted by the earpiece. This test makes it possible to analyse the functioning of the microphones, amplifier and earpiece of the hearing aid, its correct battery consumption, as well as the proper activation of the noise reducers.

Sound simulator
Testing the response of hearing aids in different day-to-day sound environments.
Sonotones has a unique acoustic room that accurately recreates the acoustic and visual conditions of different sound environments. This allows us to adjust each client’s hearing aids more effectively and realistically based on their audiometry. Noisy environments such as a restaurant, during a meal, or the living room when watching TV, among others, can be simulated to test the response of hearing aids in different everyday environments.

Remote adjustment
Remote adjustment of hearing aids
Sound processing technology for hearing aids is advancing every day. The latest generation of hearing aids have systems that allow adjustments to be made remotely, without the need for the patient to travel to the hearing centre, but from the place of their choice. The Sonotones hearing care technician will connect with the patient by video call to resolve their doubts and suggestions and to check the situation of the hearing aids. At the same time, the audiologist will remotely connect the hearing aids and make the necessary adjustments to them. This system saves time and effort for the client.

Remote audiometry
Remote audiometric testing without the need for the patient to travel.
Once the hearing aids have been delivered and initially fitted, it is necessary to go to the audiologist’s office to continue the check-ups until the hearing aids have been fully fitted. From time to time it is important to check the hearing levels, in case the hearing loss continues to increase, and to be able to update the programming of the hearing aids. If the client is unable to come to Sonotones, the audiometry can be carried out remotely: the hearing care specialist will connect to the hearing aids remotely and carry out a control audiometry.

App activation
Pairing of the hearing aids with the app allows the patient to make immediate adjustments.
The latest generation of hearing aids have their own free app that connects to them and allows the client to make immediate adjustments to the hearing aids in any sound environment. At Sonotones we pair and activate the app, allowing the patient to increase or decrease the intensity of sounds, activate noise reducers, mute the hearing aids or activate the GPS search system that detects the hearing aids if they are lost.

Hearing re-education
Auditory therapy to improve the level of language comprehension.
Sonotones provides specific hearing therapy for patients who need to improve their speech understanding using their hearing aids. Thirty-minute individual sessions are set up to work on improving language comprehension and to optimise the results of the hearing aids. First of all, a complete audiometry will be carried out, which will serve as a starting point for the auditory re-education work.
